Representative Jerry McNerney
Congressman Jerry McNerney was sworn into office on January 4, 2007. He is proud to represent California’s 11th District, which includes most of San Joaquin County in the Central Valley as well as parts of Contra Costa, Alameda and Santa Clara Counties in the Bay Area.
Prior to his election to Congress, Congressman McNerney had a career in wind energy. He has used that experience to promote green jobs, the most recent example being the $70,000 grant from the stimulus package. This grant will be used to fund green job training programs in the San Joaquin County.

In November 2008, Lois Wolk was elected to represent the Fifth Senate District, which includes the cities of Lathrop, Manteca, Stockton, and Tracy in San Joaquin County; Dixon, Fairfield, Suisun City, and Vacaville in Solano County; Davis, West Sacramento, Winters, and Woodland in Yolo County; as well as Walnut Grove and a portion of Elk Grove in Sacramento County. Prior to her election to the State Senate, Wolk served three terms—from 2002 to 2008—as the representative for the Eighth Assembly District.

Assembly Member Cathleen Galgiani
Elected to the Assembly in 2006, Assembly Member Cathleen Galgiani represents the 17th District, which reaches from Stockton to Los Banosand Tracy to Merced.
During her time in office, Assembly Member Cathleen Galgiani has made progress on a wide range of issues including protecting agriculture, cleaning up the air in the Central Valley, cutting government waste and fraud and fighting for Cal-Grant expansions so that more kids can go to college. Additionally, she helped to secure funding and support for UC Merced. She has also worked hard on to ensure Homeownership Preservation through legislation and local workshops. One of Assembly Member Galgiani’s biggest accomplishments has been the passage of her Assembly Bill 3034, which she steered through the Legislature. That bill placed Proposition 1A, The High Speed Train Bond Act, on the November 2008 ballot, which was approved by the voters.

Assembly Member Joan Buchanan
Since being elected in 2008, Assembly Member Joan has been dedicated to representing the 15th District.
Prior to being elected to the Assembly, she serviced on the San Ramon Valley School Board for 20-years. Under Joan’s leadership, the district took a new direction. Over 94% of the district’s graduating seniors attend college or university. And, despite being severely underfunded, San Ramon Valley Unified School District has received state and national recognition for student achievement. San Ramon Valley Unified School District now ranks among the top 5% of all school districts in California.
Assembly Member Buchanan serves on many committees that affect the wellbeing of her constituents. She serves on the Committee on Education, Committee on Transportation, committee on Utilities and Commerce and Committee on Accountability and Administrative Review.
